About us

Our story began back in the mid 80’s with a company called Applied Instrumentation, which is still in existence today.

The laser journey started off as two electronic engineers, doing repair work on lasers,  in leu of leasing out a small work space for the electronics business itself.

By the mid 90’s the two had acquired a laser from their associates, a Coherent Everlase 150 CO2, and started to learn the ins and outs of setting up and running the lasers in addition to repairing them. A few years later Don, the company’s proprietor, and Doug his cohort, decided to take on the R&D laser world. They purchased two additional lasers, one which came with their first customer, fostering a well respected relationship that continues to this day!

In 2003, the laser welding and cutting side of the business was sold to a new owner and renamed Applied Lasers, LLC.. With Doug deciding to stay on and continue running the machines, doing repairs and helping grow the business.

In January of 2012 Doug bought Applied Lasers, LLC. continuing to covet all of the positive business relationships he had helped build.
